I love it for all its nostalgic goodness and as albums/eras go it’s still up there with my all time faves. However, as I’ve got older I can’t help but notice there is this fuzziness present like when you listen to music on a blown out speaker. Idk if it was a production choice or what but it kinda bugs the hell out of me.

That was the quality mics they used. Gaga has spoken about how she likes the poor sound quality bc it gives it a rebellious feeling. It’s there bc they were recording it in studios built on the tour bus. Now idk if y’all ever been on a tour bus but those mfers are TINY. If she was doing that then she was getting some sh*t equipment lmao

All the singles were a messy in one way or another  that killed the hype

1 born this way is a bop but the express yourself similarities were a turn off

2 Judas being a bad romance 2.0 is also a turn off for the GP and the fans and the controversy killed the hype

3.- the edge of glory is an amazing song but the bad video killed the hype for the album even more

4.- you and I song and video is a masterpiece but we had already heard the song for like a year already so it was also a turn off

5.- marry the night is a masterpiece but the video is way too long and most of the performances were bad and as amazing as the song was it was never gonna be a hit

i love the album and era but yeah lots of messy choices everywhere

Bad Kids (in 2012) could have been a great single choice.

Fashion of his Love would have been AMAZING as a single.

If the Madonna comparisons and religious blacklists weren't a thing then I would have pushed for Black Jesus ✝  Amen Fashion as a single.

While I wish the Yuyi could have gotten her intended debut in this video, the video for The Edge of Glory is great.

While technically not Born This Way related, not taking any attempts to rejuvenate Lady Gaga's popularity/reputation musically was dumb. Zedd and Kendrick collabs in 2012 would have been very helpful for her career. I understand her stack with Kendrick Lamar regarding social issues, but she should have at least stuck with B!tch Don't Kill My Vibe since that's a bop. Regarding Zedd, Lady Gaga originally wanted the Epos and Follow You Down instrumentals for ARTPOP (as evidenced in the 2020 document leak). While Epos is a hit or miss with its experimentation, Follow You Down is a certified hit. Yes it's generic for the time, but it sounds like "Safe and Sound" and has the formula of songs like "Such Sweet Nothing". It was an obvious hit that she should have stuck with at least for his album.

And perhaps the big one: Born This Way is what started Lady Gaga's 2010's success decline, not ARTPOP. BTW was the album that pushed her out of being well liked because poor era management overexposed her. Born This Way started the hate; the reaction to ARTPOP just proved that she wasn't as appreciated anymore.

pop a 911

Marry the Night is too long and boring, the acoustic performances made it better

The Queen has the best outro of any Gaga song

Highway Unicorn is the worst song on the album

I miss the facial horns and micro bangs so much

Marry The Night should have been an earlier single, either 1st or 2nd. The single releases for me would have been:

Born This Way

Marry The Night

Scheiße *album release

The Edge of Glory

Highway Unicorn (Road to Love) *tour single

Judas for me as a single was not it. It could have been just a fan-favorite deep cut.

The Queen is SO underrated, the bridge takes me to the heavens.

- I still think the album was more experimental than ARTPOP.

A brutalist inspired, Janet Jackson "Rhythm Nation" inspired, black and white music video could work with Scheiße, directed by Steven Klein :enigma:

- Promo singles ARE THE WORST, in terms of: ever since this era or TFM I think, they keep on switching and changing the singles.

Judas was great single choice, in my opinion

It takes a smart brunette to play a dumb blonde.

VOLANTIS

The singes should have been,

1. Born This Way

2. The Edge of Glory / You and I (as simultaneous singles)

    - MTN as the promo single close to album release.

3. Heavy Metal Lover (not GP friendly but it would have ATE during late 2011 award season)

4. Bloody Mary

5. Scheiße as the last single with perfume release.

I never understood the hate that Hair got…

I think it’s a beautiful song, yeah a bit cheesy (but I like that tbh), but I personally resonate with it way more than I ever did with BTW

Smother Em Eh

Judas is one of her best songs even if it’s a BR 2.0

Electric Chapel is way too underrated. Along with Bad Kids.

TEOG is overrated among the fanbase

Heavy Metal Lover is one of her best songs EVER but it isn’t single worthy, not with that intro.

Hair is overrated

The Queen is a great song and is stupidly hated. It’s intro, lyrics, bridge and outro make it a masterpiece of a song.

The album is not actually good. It's very self-indulgent lyrically, and the actual production is awful.

I personally believe that if she released ARTPOP in place of BTW, AP would've smashed.
