i’m sorry i don’t think a racist bigot that gets off to brutalizing black women is redeemable. interesting that you think so but to each their own!

I’m sorry too but for reasons I won’t bother discussing since according to you I think a racist bigot…wtv it is you’re implying about me. I’m so used to this form of conversation on this site by now.

Some of y'all are saying "mistakes" and those "mistakes" are literally him being a racist... :triggered:

These are not "mistakes", it's literally his personality and behavior, and people have the right to call him out on it.

1-we don’t even know the context or extent of their relationship

2-that Taylor had a conversation with him regarding his remarks

Dude even if they're just friends that's not way different, she's still hanging out with a person like that...

C'mon you don't have conversations with racists, racism ain't just an opinion that requires education. If you talk with them you act like if they just messed up being racists but it ain't about some mistake to fix.

Heck maybe Taylor’s company will make him a better person

That's not the question.

Many normal person company could help him if he was open to it but apparently not...

We talk about her keeping him around cause she loves the company and is ready to ignore the dude nasty actions overall...

You guys need to stop canceling people, it’s just not sustainable at this point.

Holding persons of influence responsible isn't cancelling them, you know it...

48 hours later nearly none of the "cancelled persons" are still cancelled anyway and you know Tay many stans will remain staning anyway so she'll will not even have to face it, just ignores it peacefully and go on I bet.

All that was minimization distraction and misplaced victimization. Only some of the die-hard swifties here supported you with it all and not most of them.

We just need to stop with this excuse making, folks acting kinda "tolerants" with racists can't be excused or it minimized in any way period.

That’s literally what all of you say. Criticizing someone without full context is literally the basis of cancel culture. I’m tired too but let’s keep acting that everyone criticizing public figures behind their keyboards is a moral angel.

There’s context to her being in a relationship with a bigot? That’s still actively being a bigot to this day? Be serious, if it weren’t for Taylor Swift you would not be defending this or trying to blame the masses for being outraged.

And not a single person here is pretending to be a moral angel. It doesn’t take sanctity to look for accountability.

I get their take tbf.

Musicians aren't meant to be sources of moral virtue, they're complex people who have complex lives, which is why they make music.

It's ultimately Taylor's personal life and she's entitled to do what she wants. I'm not going to judge her character and attack her because she is "guilty by association". I'd wish she had a less toxic boyfriend, but that's not my decision nor choice.

I just feel that in the spirit of equality, if we're going to cancel popstars because of their nasty af boyfriends/husbands (i.e. Nicki Minaj), then the same treatment should apply to Ms. Swift (which kills me because I'm a staunch Swiftie and Barb)

Oh really?

Isn’t Gaga currently working with an alleged sexual offender choreographer?

And as fans of her shouldn’t we now technically unstan her? You know to hold her accountable and show our support to the victims? But we all know that’s not gonna happen. When its our fav she can get away with a slap on the wrist at best.

And if anyone here tells me don’t bring Gaga into this then it just goes to show the hypocrisy. Mic drop.

I’m sorry but deflecting to Gaga as if she’s immune to accountability is a moot point at best. She has gotten dragged for her own poor choices so if you think there’s a unique bias from her fans about folks like Richy then you need to take your blinders off and get a reality check by looking at literally any thread that mentions him. She will continue to be scrutinized for her silence.

Idk why y’all always have selective memory as if plenty of people don’t call out Gaga when things don’t add up. A recent example being the Gaga & Nicki thread.

You’ll always find examples of people not agreeing with Gaga. People just don’t like when someone that they look up to says one thing but they’re actions say otherwise. No one is trying to cancel Taylor for her crusty bf. It’s just very clear that most of her “activism” is for the image of it. That doesn’t change that she’s a great artist to some people.

So you're just gonna ignore the TOP "Trending Today" post on here?

Like 90% of this thread is complaining about Gaga keeping Richy. People have definitely called Gaga out for still working with him.

Folks here aren't making all types of excuses for Gaga like you do for Tay, far from it. So nope, that's a false equivalence.

She's getting way more than "a slap on the wrist" over it just now in the top thread and it's been a frequent thing for 10 months. As someone who's often here there's no way you missed it so you're hypocritical...

You're doing whataboutism and invent an double standard to distract from you minimizing a racist apologist actions...

She's not responsible for his actions, but she choose to spend time w him so I have no problem judging her for that

This is not the same as, like, Gaga with her dad, or a woman who's married and then their spouse says something.. like she already knew and then choose to pursue relationship :awkney:

And also Gaga stopped talking about her dad LOL she publicly damn near disowned him hahaha
