Jesus. 275 is what Chromatica got in its opening weekend. Taylor Swift is a GOD. The Madonna of our generation in terms of charts.

She just re-released the album with new songs and a remix/music video which all counts towards its sales next week. You're talking like it's abnormal. Artists who released deluxe versions with extra songs did gain huge sales increases as well a decade ago.

On a side note it's mental to think that 275k is enough for a #1 these days.

It has been for a long time though? In fact, chart sales have gotten weaker over the years with the rise of streaming and the amount of different music people consume these days.

I know that chart sales have gotten weaker. I was just saying to me it's mental that such low numbers are enough these days. These days as a term doesn't mean last week only lol

Huh? It’s more than enough these days. In fact its considered a solid opening week for many artists. We had albums debut at #1 with less around 10 years ago.

Sneaky Oliver

The hype around this album is surreal. It’s a good album obviously, but it’s not that different from Lover, the videos are definitely not her best. I think a huge part of the album’s success came from the re-recordings and the “eras” tour. It’s such a good way to gather all the fans from previous eras who eventually stopped following her so closely
