EDIT: hmmm not sure if I prefer it yet, but at least there’s a fade out outro I can edit into the original so it doesn’t just abruptly end :tony:

Are u talking about Auntie Diaries?

if so, then please listen to what he says while reading the lyrics. The meaning behind the song is beautiful.

he talks about how his “auntie” (who’s now a Man) was always more masculine, and him and his friends at a younger age didnt know any better than to use the word “*******”.

My auntie is a man now
I think I'm old enough to understand now
Drinking Paul Masson with her hat turned backwards
Back when it was comedic relief to say "*******"
*******, *******, *******, we ain't know no better
Elementary kids with no filter, however
My auntie became a man and I took pride in it
She wasn't gay, she ate ***, and that was the difference

I don't find it touching to hear that you know better now while still putting the slur in your music for your fans to sing along to

I agree as someone who is queer and has listened to Kendrick Lamar for over a decade, i think that song is actually really touching. It was a risky artistic decision to use the F slur, but if you think about his main audience (straight African American males) the song is actually a critique on the use of that word and discourages using it. It's a shock value art type of thing but he def had LGBT ally intentions in his creation of it.

I respect u for sharing ur opinion, but u must know that it is EXTREMELY rare and difficult for rappers to show support for topics like these. It’s not like he created an anthem and encourages ppl to sing along and shout the F word. It’s a very honest song about his childhood and I’m sure a LOT of ppl with his background can and will be able to relate and learn from their mistakes when they hear his lyrics. It’s not all black and white, you should be more understanding of people’s background. In no way is he using it in a disrespectful way imo
