And you can’t marry him in Italy either. Israel is on par with Italy in terms of LGBTQ rights and better than all Eastern Europe.

Israel may not be ‘gay friendly’ as a whole, but it hosts one the largest prides in the world. It was one of the first countries to allow civil unions and adoptions by same-sex couples. All other Middle Eastern countries either imprison or sentence gays to death. Huge difference.

If she ends up winning, it's going to be a lesson, that there's something called "doing too much" to the point that you create a sympathy platform for the person you're protesting against.

Activists need to be wary of this. This applies to the situation in the U.S as well.

I mean...it is just a song contest though, no? I understand the cultural significance but...

In reality, Israel's actual allies are turning away from supporting them. Even the US is halting weapons shipments because Israel's going ahead with the Rafah invasion after being warned not to.

Let them win a silly contest, they're isolating themselves from the rest of the world while being surrounded by enemies that rightfully hate them

That's called pinkwashing. In fact, according to the Pew Research Center, 56% of Israel opposes same-sex marriage.
