Did BTW10th do what it needed to do?

With Taylor Swift rereleasing all her old stuff, the media nostalgia craze and the timelessness of the streaming era, I presumed a load more artists would rerelease their old albums to find new audiences and presumed the born this way 10th anniversary edition was a clever way to do that without looking like copying Taylor. Like obviously it wasn’t as successful as Swifts rereleases, but do you think the  recent virality of Judas, Bloody Mary, Government Hooker etc would have happened without the rerelease? Or, would they have gone viral anyway with tik tok? Like does anyone have any stats on whether BTW was affected much streaming wise by the rerelease? 
 

Yes, im thinking about the albums success because the Act2 discourse makes me wonder if my favourite album would have a resurgence and I can share my love with more people

I don't think it contributed to these songs going viral to be honest.

I think they should have done more with it however - a few early demos/unreleased songs would have been great.

I loved the idea but the execution at the end was bad, none of the reinterpreted songs have replay value imo, I'm sure there are people who liked it but for me it didn't work out 

also the tiktok trends are volatile so I don't think the album did nothing for it

I know for legal reasons it's probably impossible but I really wish they had instead rereleased it with unreleased (or fun/surprise) tracks from that era like stuck on f*ckin' you!

I don’t think it had anytning to do with GH, Judas, or especially BM going viral. GH was resurrected in her live shows just a few years back and also follows Born This Way (song) on the album, so it’s not unlikely that whoever started its associated trend stumbled upon the track via one of those tunnels. Judas was always destined to be better appreciated in the long run IMO. It’s classic Gaga in every way and resembles Bad Romance, Just Dance, and Poker Face quite heavily IMO. Bloody Mary was obvi all from the Wednesday trend

They should’ve uploaded Stuck on F***in You and some demos to official streaming, done a vinyl repressing, merch, and a one-off live show
