LaLuna 12,732
I love that song Everyone's entitled to their opinion on MJ, but you can't deny that he made some of the absolute best pop songs of all-time.

I think one of the points of this song is they're actually not entitled to their own opinions about another human being The truth is what the truth is. Believing anything else is to buy into fabrications, hysteria, and slander. A narrative started by abusive liars and perpetuated by a negligent and dishonest media because they know people love to read/watch gossip and they love watching the character assassination of public figures, regardless of whether or not it's deserved. It's "entertainment", but it kills people. It's akin to the old days where public executions used to be attended by hundreds in the town center. It killed Diana, it sent Britney Spears over the edge, and it caused Michael so much grief that he literally could not sleep and had to resort to surgical anesthesia, which led to his own death. Tabloid Junkie is a perfect representation of why HIStory is so well written, personal, and sadly lowkey prophetic 🧡The blindfold's off my eyes, all I see for me is better days🧡

I just meant that people have their opinion on MJ on this site and elsewhere, and we're not gonna change their mind about him, but they should still respect his incredible legacy. I guess I view it less as "they have an opinion" and more as "they are wrong" I definitely don't debate with them anymore though. The facts are out there, if they came to the conclusions they have even after seeing the facts then they're clearly crazy But yes, his legacy is undeniable. Tabloid Junkie is a perfect representation of why HIStory is so well written, personal, and sadly lowkey prophetic I'm 2 hours late, but I agree and that's majority of the reason why I like this song. Literally anyone in the public view, celebrity or slightly viral, is going to have some fake story fabricated about them. Some lyrics that stab me straight through the heart are. "It's slander. You say it's not a sword. But with your pen your torture men You crucify the Lord" And then when he transitions to the chorus with "So why do we keep fooling ourselves?" 💜🩷🩵
