Benji 20,113
I don’t see anything wrong in what she said. If you have the option to protect your kids from psychos with guns in America, you’re gonna take it? The outrage is totally a Twitter way of thinking - “you didn’t say you’re privileged enough to do that immediately after your statement so you’re cancelled”
AURAOFSHEISSE 6,516
People overestimate how much kids actually learn in public school, they don’t teach you how to think they teach you what to think…that’s coming from someone who’s been homeschooled and public schooled “Hands on your knees, I’m Angelina Jolie”
weed 73,785
Spilledt! Obviously not every teacher is horrible, but I think someone like Trisha who was sexually assaulted by multiple teachers can have their personal views.
faysalaaa 4,519
Its just Trisha sh*t talking on a podcast, it shouldnt be taken seriously. I think alot of kids have been traumatized by the educational systen and teachers. So I think its okay to cuss out some jobs. Dont people say **** cops all the time? Edit: Seems like some took offence to me comparing cops to teachers. My comparison was not based on politics or weather cops are good / bad. My comparison was based on both being public servants, and the public being offended that public servants are being cussed out.

Maxine Puth 9,053
Teachers are underpaid, have to deal with parents / misbehaving students, constant threat of school shootings, are forced to follow dated and irrelevant standards, etc. it’s a wonder there’s even teachers who show up to work. Idc what they’ve personally been through, making the general statement “**** teachers” says a lot about how out of the loop these two people are. Maxine Puth 9,053
Just watched the apology… at least she knows what she said was pretty ****ed up. Unfortunately people are already defending her original statement, which just shows how something you say “in the moment” can lead to bigger issues. Kimmo 80,690
Is true there’s good and bad teachers, I had my English teacher bully me in High School and when I told another teacher he laughed, because they were good friends and I didn’t know… then she kicked me out of her class and it was the best thing that happened to me because they sent me to AP English with a teacher that everyone feared, I was sweating bullets when I started her class, but she actually helped me out a lot, she would give me so many great book recommendations to read and would always give me an A even when I knew my essays weren’t worth an A… I loved her! So yes, **** You Miss Bitchiness and Thank you so much Miss Brakeman! Hottie Detector

I think homeschooling can result in kids taking on the parents way of thinking or views of the parents which can result in these crazy people who believe in all kinds of rubbish or (especially in the US) them pushing some religious alternative facts on them or something. The entire police institution works against the people, violates them, targets minorities and underprivileged people, protects the rich and the powerful, upkeeps oppressive systems, etc. Teachers do none of that and comparing the two is a false analogy to say the least. Not sure why you're even adding this weird argument to this thread. Soft, soothing, and succulent

Not sure why you're even adding this weird argument to this thread. Everything you mentioned about cops also applies to the educational system in America. My main point was I think its okay to cuss out public servants like cops and teachers, even though its not socially acceptable. My comparison was based on both cops and teachers being public servants, and the public being offended that public servants are being cussed out. None of my comments were based on politics or saying cops are good or bad.
