Basically 90% of the Black Eyed Peas' music is sampled

I think, in general, her catalog really aces sampling. She never relies on the sample to make the song interesting, but makes everything her own.

If, Rhythm Nation and Someone To Call My Lover are some of the best examples of that, imo.

Listening to If, you would never say it sounds like the Supremes but it uses that sample to add a wink and a nod to her musical influences. Much of the Velvet Rope album is the same. She bases that album on samples from her youth to revisit trauma based in her past to move forward. It's such a cathartic experience and incredibly innovative use of samples for storytelling.

Her, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are a powerhouse.

Agreed. Her samples just sound like they came up with them. It’s masterful work. Looove the shout out to Someone to Call My Lover. One of the best

Mr Peeps

The sampling on Renaissance by Beyoncé is insane, especially PURE/HONEY

I remade that song and she has like elements of 3 different songs playing simultaneously and it still sounds good.

I love this project so much because there's thought and intention behind the samples, she didn't just copy a melody and called it a day
