Adding diversity and equity to the Academy definitely adds more character and better choices. There’s still a long way to go, but I think it reflected by last night. I also loved that it was… boring? Normal? No scandal, no major upsets. It really felt like a celebration of film. I hope you’re right and they try to appease to quality again. I wish they had some kind of voting body… I love the Oscars because it’s not voted on by committee (usually very off the pulse in their decisions).
