Fans are speculating that maybe they're still discussing the budget/it wasn't picked up. Her numbers/sales this era have far surpassed expectations and outsold previous eras so it'd be a major surprise if they decided PORTALS didn't perform well enough.

I think we should stay seated and not panic just yet, the era is only beginning (the album isn't even a month old yet) so they're probably working some stuff out!

I guess so! But then I'm also confused because then will the music videos have their own individual themes/visuals.. but then the album as a whole will tell another full story in movie form? How will the movie differ from the music videos. I've never heard of an artist doing basically two entire visual albums for one album    either way I'm going to enjoy everything she puts out! And I'm excited to enjoy each video one at a time, but I can't really see them dropping 13 MVs and then a movie after that as well, two years after the album was released

Crybaby era was so well received, I think, because the videos kept the hype going. Plus, since it was a overarching story, when a new video was coming out, people would re watch old videos again, to get refreshed on everything. It really was a good system for her, and I think this would help the PORTALS era keep the momentum.

I totally get that, but personally when I'm setting out to enjoy an album/era I don't look at it from the standpoint of how commercially successful it will be, or how much hype it can gain amongst other people, or how promo is managed, or any of the business side of things. I just like to enjoy the art for what it is

That being said if we're talking business... sometimes if they stretch their era out for too long it loses the inital  hype, passes it's peak, and the label decides to cut any further funding. She said she wants to release 13 MVs over two years (and then potentially release a movie?)... I can definitely see the label pulling the plug a year down the line and declaring the era over when streams slow down. They did exactly that to Gaga during ARTPOP. Too long between singles, they missed their window of profit, and decided the era was over and cut her off. How crap would it be if she gets 6 MVs in and then they say 'streaming numbers have levelled out and releasing videos isn't bringing them back up. We're gonna have to decline funding anything further related to this album, and we need you to release a new album so we can continue to profit'  There's a reason she's complained about her label many times before, budgetting issues, wrote songs like Detention, Numbers, and Leeches
