Romania detects suspect drone in Moldova's airspace, Moldova closes its airspace

Moldova decided to close its airspace amid security concerns. The authorities at București reportedly detected an unknown object flying over the territory of Moldova.

This is so weird to me because I was just tracking flightradar24 earlier and was wondering how are planes still flying toward Chișinău when Russia is flying missiles on the regular.

It was announced the closure will last until 4pm (it's 3pm now), however I expect it to last longer.

An aerial target similar to a weather balloon, which was evolving at an altitude of about 11,000 meters in the southeast of the country, was detected by the surveillance system of the Romanian Air Force. Two MiG-21 LanceR planes were sent to the area, but the crews did not confirm the presence of the target, notes Mediafax.
