Superbowl Halftime Show

It definitely wasn’t the best show in terms of singing/dancing/performing etc, but visually it’s so obviously miles ahead of the previous shows. The stage at the Super Bowl always looks too shiny and kinda tacky but this one was so clean, modern, and striking. Very in line with what Rihanna does at her Savage shows.

I agree. I concur.

Honestly that was pretty bad not gonna lie.

I imagine the budget for the SBHTS is massive so they could have done so so much more even if she didn't want to move around while being pregnant especially with the moving platforms. Could have had dancers around her in different outfits for different songs and her own quick change outfits with the baby reveal at the end for diamonds. such a shame :fatcat:

Being pregnant is no excuse for her complete lack of interest, almost disdain. She seems as if she didn't want to be there and girl didn't even rehearse lip-syncing. You can still do a great performance even if you don't dance. She just didn't even try.

Her pregnancy gives her a pass. But we all know if she wasn't pregnant, she still would have been mediocre.

I disagree! Don't get me wrong, her performance type is similar to what was presented last night but usually the energy is a lot better ie her VMA 2016 performance. I'm male, so obviously zero understanding as to pregnancy but I feel as if it's moreso her just being over performing in general. Not like Britney VMA 2007 over it (and rightly so she was over it) as it was much more polished than that, but she just doesn't have that spark and passion as she once did. She's done what she's wanted to do in this industry if that makes sense. Think she thought last night was more of a 'this is it, i've done my piece' moment rather than a comeback which a lot of ppl expected it to be.

Still, it wasn't anywhere near awful. Just not on par with the VERY high standard other pop girls bring which creates disappointment as her music has been v impactful and she has had iconic moments. Again, hard not to look bias but **** me gagas SB performance was perfection. As was madonnas/beyonces/katy perrys. Expectation as such i think was to be on that level and when it wasnt we're all just a bit underwhelmed

I don't think it was a very good performance but given the circumstances that she's pregnant and hasn't really performed in a while I think it's fine.

But also screw the Superbowl. Glad she got her coins from them

you need to watch gaga's halftime show if you haven't seen anyone have a lot of fun on that stage :lmao:

I didn’t think for a second that I would get a different opinion than “Gaga’s was better” on this website. You won’t really change my mind :P

Pressed about what? Pressed that it sucked? Yes. We all wanted it to be great

Taste is subjective honey, and if you don’t realise that, then perhaps you will someday! People enjoyed the performance, if you didn’t, then thankfully you only lost 13 min of your life. Really no need to drag anyone 😊

why are people excusing her for being pregnant when she knew full well she had an entire superbowl show to do MONTHS ago? :enigma:

For me, this wasn’t “it”.
I feel bad for critiquing Ri as she is pregnant.
My opinion is that the set was great at first. The dancers were good. But Rihanna (presumably) stood and mimed for 13 minutes! The imagery was the same all the way through. I found myself constantly wondering what the next song would be, rather than enjoying the show. I don’t know if it’s just me that felt like she didn’t seem to enjoy the experience?

It wasn’t awful in any way. To me, it was just uneventful (again, not surprising considering she is pregnant. But we have seen others like Bey perform whilst pregnant and they did a fantastic job).

No intentional “hate” towards Rihanna. I just don’t think she’s that into performing anymore (but I have barely watched any of her other live performances, so unsure how she usually fairs)
