The moving platforms, her red silhouette in that sea of dancers in white… I think it was very impactful and memorable. I didn’t mind the lack of props and tricks, she didn’t need those tbh, it was all pretty epic as it was. The one moment that irked me was the Fenty Beauty plug. The stage at the Super Bowl always looks too shiny and kinda tacky but this one was so clean, modern, and striking. Very in line with what Rihanna does at her Savage shows. The floating stage and the camera work/ angles were visually stunning but i wouldn't say the creative director did a "brilliant job" considering the fact that they was so much more that could have been done in terms lighting, costuming, props. Many good dancers. Nice vocals. Almost all my favourite Rihanna songs were included, only Pon de Replay was missing. Cute featuring artists (the baby bumb). Very lovely. That meant no differentiation between anything and a lack of actual lighting changes didn't help. There's nothing wrong with not doing choreography, but the majority of artists that move around less, do less songs (Springsteen, The Who, U2). If this had been an outside Grammy or VMA performance it would have been cool, but for the SuperBowl I think you have to bring your A++ game and sadly this wasn't up to the standard of many.
