Probably my favorite SB show ever visually. Whoever creative directed it did a brilliant job.

Reading the comments, I expected something terrible, but I thought it was actually very clean and efficient. The moving platforms, her red silhouette in that sea of dancers in white… I think it was very impactful and memorable. I didn’t mind the lack of props and tricks, she didn’t need those tbh, it was all pretty epic as it was.

The one moment that irked me was the Fenty Beauty plug. And the fact there’s still no new music on the horizon, this is honestly not even funny anymore.

Meh. Was expecting this to be up there on the likes of MJ, Madge, gaga and Beyoncé. My bad

Look I agree, it was a cute performance and nothing more. But gurl, did you read the names you wrote? Rihanna never even came close to those performers and things wouldn't have been different now.

It definitely wasn’t the best show in terms of singing/dancing/performing etc, but visually it’s so obviously miles ahead of the previous shows. The stage at the Super Bowl always looks too shiny and kinda tacky but this one was so clean, modern, and striking. Very in line with what Rihanna does at her Savage shows.

The floating stage and the camera work/ angles were visually stunning but i wouldn't say the creative director did a "brilliant job" considering the fact that they was so much more that could have been done in terms lighting, costuming, props. They couldn't even light up the stage during all of the lights.

i really don’t think costume changes would have been easy for a pregnant person

I don't think she would have gotten permission for rain. they were still playing a football match after her performance.

The Fame Monster

I thought it was the best Super Bowl Halftime Show by far. I was screaming and dancing the whole time. Many good dancers. Nice vocals. Almost all my favourite Rihanna songs were included, only Pon de Replay was missing. Cute featuring artists (the baby bumb). Very lovely.

who said anything about costume changes? the dancers looked like cottonwools and she was dressed in pieces that did not help in accentuating her movements. that's why her dancing looks so lazy (aside from the fact that she's pregnant)

i suppose i thought you meant that by costuming, my bad, but other people also wanted costume changes

EDIT: See directly below. lol

The hits carried the show as expected but damn where are the props? There are barely any costume changes. Things would've been better if She didnt reveal the baby bump until the middle/last part or the show. Also a guest star would help a lot.

So here's the problem: too many song choruses were squeezed in which meant there was no light or shade, no highs or lows. That meant no differentiation between anything and a lack of actual lighting changes didn't help.

There's nothing wrong with not doing choreography, but the majority of artists that move around less, do less songs (Springsteen, The Who, U2).

If this had been an outside Grammy or VMA performance it would have been cool, but for the SuperBowl I think you have to bring your A++ game and sadly this wasn't up to the standard of many.

Also, ending with Diamonds and starting with BBHMM were just bizarre choices
