Economy 52,861
https://www.reuters.com/markets/europe/russian-central-bank-holds-key-rate-75-gives-hawkish-signal-2023-02-10/ Russia's Central Bank put out some gloomy outlooks and risks to economy mainly as a result of high deficits immediately after President Putin Reportedly Pushed the Central Bank of Russia to put out less gloomy economic forecasts to spur optimism in population and business world The Russian Central Bank led by Elvira Nabiulina appears to consistently test the waters by not always doing what Putin appears to want with a history of contradicting him in matters such as what monetarily policy is best for the Country Central Banks operate separately from Federal Governments other than core mandates they are given. However Putin has appeared to want to influence it's Central Bank much the way Donald Trump tried to put pressure on Jerome Powell
Economy 52,861
If you ask me, he hasn't made a move on Nebiulina cuz not only is she highly respected and evokes confidence of competence in the business community... But more importantly by allowing someone well known who low-key defies him in public he can use her as a scapegoat if Russia totally crumbles and slap the blame on her so he doesn't have to take responsibility for it. He can say, "well I said we should of done this but the Central Bank and the head Elvira did otherwise" He knows exactly what he's doing
Dennis 8,391
I have a feeling this woman really despises her boss But she's very accomplished. She's kinda saved the russian economy. Imagine if Russia was ruled by a smart sensible person like her. The world would look a lot different. "Dressed predominately in black, as she has been at most public appearances since Russia sent tens of thousands of troops into Ukraine last February, Nabiullina said the balance of risks had shifted towards inflation" I like her fashion messaging

I think one wanted the currency to float and one didn't or something. Anyway whatever it was, she did what Putin didn't want Like I said tho, Putin probably feels he needs her because of her reputation. She is considered highly competent and having her running the Central Bank may give a sense of ease in business community that right now is invaluable Also like I said if Russia falls apart he can always blame her since she didn't always do exactly as he wanted and he needs to keep her as a scape goat Probably why she hasn't been eliminated by now tbh cuz it's very clear usually when u go against Putin, u die in an accident shortly after
