There are also products we use that fund anti-hate campaigns too. It’s not all doom and gloom. Plus we can always donate or fundraise for pro trans activist groups too (something people tried to do but oh well)

The only sane take is to continue to advocate for trans rights explicitly. Everyone is doing that now and I feel progress is being made in a lot of ways

Abstaining from a terf’s game is just one part of what I do for my tran’s brothers and sisters!  I’ve put my money where my mouth is and have donated multiple times when I can afford to to charities like Mermaids and I have also helped fund raise for trans and lgbt+ charities in the nightlife sector… but pop off

The game is going to smash regardless because of the HP name/franchise. You might as well realize you're technically on the same side at the end of the day and join forces to promote positive resources, reputable charities/funds, etc. instead of shaming people for buying a video game. 90% of people buying it have no idea about JK and her views.

Honestly the game is so impressive and well put together, I'm glad to pay my dollars to the company and its staff. 

I'm just too exhausted trying to curb my habits to meet some loose goal of not paying JK Rowling or whatever social issue is earning people self-righteousness points.

If I feel i have to behave in a certain way  because I know I'll be ostracized if I don't, I won't genuinely believe in doing it. I suspect a lot of other people are feeling this fatigue too.

It's what drove me from being a proud left-wing person to a center-right libertarian. I'd come back to the left if we dropped this righteous attitude and respected people if they simply wanted to play a game.
