" You have to try different chemicals and liquids" and that's the part when she fall into a trap. "Trying different chemicals and liquids" it's her way to take samples of already successful songs, sticking them together and make a song about it. Kim Petras said something similar about trying to perfect the pop formula (or more accurately "a" as there could be multiple "formulas"). But--imo--unlike Kim, Ava's music can be pretty damn cheesy. So Am I is the clearest example. It's pure pop in its sound and lyrics, but all-together it's lacking substance. And that "lack" manifests as cheesiness. Born This Way by comparison, carries similar messaging of self-love, individuality and an ode to societies "misfits" but carries more oomph. I think the difference is that Ava tried so hard to create pop perfection that it ends up sounding soul-less, cheesy, and honestly even a bit cheap-sounding. Just my opinion! Opinions are a thing. We are all entitled to them and whatnot, blah blah blah.. But people really enjoy Ava Max (hence her multiple hits). Your lack of an ability to enjoy things doesn't mean it's bad. It just means you simply don't like it. I dunno. This whole conversation is just so weird to me.
