FfFfFfFF 52,930
Do you recognize them? They are the cows of the steppe Sura breed that appear in famous painting "Car cu boi" by Romanian painter Grigorescu. Unfortunately, the Sura, although it was an autochthonous breed, is on the verge of extinction in Romania and almost dissapeared after the 50s. At COBOR - the biodiversity farm, however, the breeding of this breed has been resumed and which invests enormously in preserving the traditions and biodiversity of the area. Cobor's main objective is to develop an organic farm on at least 500 ha, which conserves biodiversity on century old cultivated grasslands and creates profits for the core administration costs of the future CARPATHIA National Park. The Cobor farm project intends to showcase, how proper management of these grasslands can conserve biodiversity, produce high-quality food and services and create profits for a conservation project all at the same time.
