Madonna tried so hard and failed. Why?

She did everything she could possibly do to destroy her legacy yet still 41 years later, her tour sold out in a matter of hours (with higher ticket prices than any Pop star), her compilation album of ancient and already existing remixes is constantly charting, and a Hard Candy demo went TT viral and is re-peaking on Spotify every day.

For the longest time haters have been echoing the sentiment that Madonna had long destroyed her legacy and is completely forgotten & resorted to theater tours due to lack of demand. What happened?

Madonna’s legacy will never be ruined. Her musical achievements are unmatched, no wonder she is still the Queen Of Pop. When someone releases masterpieces like Like A Prayer, Erotica, Bedtime Stories, Ray Of F*CKING Light, Music, American Life and Confessions On A Dancefloor then we can call them Queen of pop.

The girl has Ray Of Light, Confession on Dancefloor, Erotica, Like A Prayer, Music in her discography. Just to quote some of them.

Her legacy is alive and well.

She has reached legend status about 15 years ago, she can pretty much do whatever she wants now. I’m not a huge fan of each individual album but they are all clear statements with a vision.

Madonna is Madonna. Even if she was retired and cancelled people would still swarm to see her shows. Everyone knows who Madonna is. Even people who don't listen to her would be enticed to see her live, especially for such a monumental tour.

Can you name her music achievements that you speak of without actually looking them up?

Like Madonna said, the most controversial thing she has done was to stick around. People wanted her to retire for so long she never allowed them to have that.

Sonically it mixes a lot of different things with a focus on Portugese sounds. Lyrically it is a very political album. Imo it’s her best work since Confessions.

I mean Taylor Swift is one of the worst live performers and yet she’s about to have the biggest female tour of all time. If you have loyal fans, nothing can stop your selling power. Madonna can do anything she wants and her fans will still love her.
