ARTPOP Acti II petition: NEW GOAL, LETS DO IT

ARTPOP has a very special place in my heart and will always be one of my favourite albums!

But I’d rather know that Gaga celebrated the anniversary because she wanted to. Not because she felt pressured/ bullied into doing it.

I’ll completely understand if she decides not to. But I’ll be thrilled if she did release “Act II”

Please Id be grateful with a few demos with some tweaks on the production and that'd mean zero Gaga work, just like what she had to do with BTW 10th Anniversary or DOC. I dont care if she just releases it on streaming services with no merch or anything, we just want something to celebrate 10 years of ARTPOP.

It’s true, the main hold-up would be the label if they don’t already own the songs - we know they hold onto some probably for a Greatest Hits/posthumous release, the rest are just commissioned to be made and exist out of their possession because the label didn’t want them.  Releasing music that they don’t have would mean new contracts to own the songs to release and probably a contract prior to that to finish the songs.  All of this costs a lot of money so if the label isn’t convinced it’s a worthy investment they won’t do it.  That’s why Gaga would really need to be onboard with it to push from her side but she has plenty of other projects and is no doubt thinking about her next album and not releasing old songs.

Honestly if they didn't release some unreleased songs from TF, TFM and BTW (while still being her most successful / streamed albums in 2023), I highly doubt they would try on ARTPOP..

I'd take any scrapped music from past eras of course, but it feels like her label never had any interest in doing those kind of releases with her. Realistically I think they have more interest into making her back in the studio and cooking new fresh material from her current perspective than milking some old tracks that didn't make it long time ago.

I mean most of her 'recent' release were made long time ago (Chromatica, LFS were made between 2018/2019, HMH was made in 2019), so basically she hasn't release anything creatively recent in ages...

The thing about The Fame, The Fame Monster and Born This Way is that those were finished albums. The scrapped demos were exactly that, scrapped. In ARTPOP's case, there's a whole Volume 2 with songs that were meant to be released at some point during that album's cycle. At least we know Temple, Tea, Brooklyn Nights, Partynauseous and Radio were ready to be released.

Honestly I'd be happy and ready to move on if we at least get Tea because that's DJWS' and just sitting there, MAYBE Temple if it's still available but we'll know for sure next November lol.

Gaga has a lot of finished songs from all the eras she had. There were also some plans for her finished music from 2015 to be released but it was also cancelled. And probably more than we don't even know. Interscope has never been manifesting any interesting into milking those unreleased songs.

I'm sure it is a regular thing for any artist, just remember how Miley had a full three parts project produced by Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt that never seen the light at the end.

It's totally furstating as fans but I guess it's normal not getting everything...

That’s not true though.  ARTPOP on release is a finished and standalone album. “ACT 2” isn’t an album sat waiting to be released that was shelved.  Early on in the production, Gaga teased that ARTPOP would be a two part album but that idea was scrapped and they focused on creating a single album.  ACT 2 was going to be a follow up with leftover and new tracks but it didn’t get off the ground so all that is there right now is mostly demos from ARTPOP.  Brooklyn Nights sounds pretty finished and we can assume Temple is nearly there as it was in the running to be on ARTPOP.  Those other songs you listed though we have no idea.

This is why it isn’t as simple as “Release ACT 2!” - it’s not ready and would require a lot of investment to be release ready.

As a side note edit: Temple is Zedd and the version of PN that people want is Garibay.  They’re not going to be released unless both producers want to be revisiting those songs and agreeing to releasing them.  So far, I think only DJWS is the one pushing to release whilst both others are focusing on new projects.

This doesn’t negate my point, the songs aren’t sat there, release ready.  We know Gaga listens to her own demos, we have footage of her listening to Nothin’ On But The Radio, the ARTPOP demo and the Aura demo.  It’s also how we found out Stupid Love was a title of a song as she was listening to “STUPID LOVE” on her phone when carving pumpkins :triggered:

Except you said the album wasn’t shelved… and yet Gaga herself said that there’s a whole ACT 2 that she listens to, and that maybe she’ll put it out. :glamourpuss: and then like a month later she said that it would probably come out soon. Of corse she listens to her own demos lol. The difference here is that there is proof that ARTPOP (unlike her other albums) has a whole other act that she put together. An album full of songs that are basically finished, aka it’s not just her mumbling words to a beat. That’s why she referenced so many songs during the era that she wanted to put out (In Like With You, Tinnitus, Onion Girl). These were songs she obviously had a desire to release along with what had already been put out. I’m just kinda bored of people spreading the idea that ACT 2 was never a solid concept, and that it’s just a “bunch of ARTPOP demos.” Because we have proof that Gaga did put together songs which she refers to as part of a second act.

I don’t think you’re understanding what I’m saying - I said RELEASE ready.  She has not said she could just drop these songs, just that she listens to them and might put them out (in the future).  We do not have enough evidence to conclude there is a shelved, ready to release album.  If it was ready, the songs would’ve been present in the big document leak but they’re not barring Temple and Brooklyn Nights.  The fact that these other songs aren’t mentioned means it’s pretty safe to assume they’re not finished/concepts/demos; whatever you would like to call them.

If you’re getting “I have a fully finished mastered album I could pop on iTunes tomorrow” from what Gaga said, you’re setting yourself up for disappointment.

EDIT: Even if Gaga came out with “I have a full finished mastered album I’ll drop soon” I would take it with a pinch of salt.  The “betrayals” became a meme for a reason.

The last 10 years have made a big part of little monsters believe that Gaga hates ARTPOP and that it somehow awakens some type of trauma and pain inside of her just by being mentioned, and I think that's a bit dramatic :sweat:She believed in ARTPOP as much as every other record of her, and she still does. Theres that tiktok comment on that ARTPOP video a couple months ago when she said "my soul", she talked about ARTPOP being ahead of its time on that Vogue video from last year, and she even tweeted about this petition with a really beautiful message when it first came out. She performs Applause pretty much on every show besides Chromatica Ball, and she even added Aura at Enigma and Venus + Sexxx Dreams at Coachella (plus a long intro featuring the whole album). Sure she was having a really dark time during 2013, but I don't think the album is as traumatic for her as some people on here claim it to be.

I actually think Born This Way and Chromatica eras may be as bad as ARTPOP for her bc of Covid, being overworked, hip injury and all the trauma she was put on during the recording sessions for Chromatica

could mean anything

I don't understand anyone's distaste for  the petition.. If anything it just shows Interscope, which is a business, that there is a demand for 'act 2' and this could very much help make it a possibility. That's also considering if Gaga herself wants to do it.
