i feel like her statement was kinda one-sided

how can you live your whole life, continuing still grieving about something that happened decades ago ? the series was released in September and whether it was Evan Peters or not, someone else would've took that role. i really feel like either shes/they complaining or just letting off stress if it truly haunts her.

nonetheless i don't wanna hear about the victims or their family's anymore, it was only one season and a whole bunch of people (America) capitalized off this horror story before TikTok era people did.

so why even bring this distress to them ?

twice nonetheless

Eh, that's not how that works. What happened to the victims and their families IS horrible. No one is saying otherwise. However, media being produced and inspired from such horrible events is going to continue being produced and (however much you dislike it) entertaining. You are blaming the actors and higher powers but aren't addressing the fact that people wanna see these kinda shows.

i literally said in my last sentence we have the power to change that. but actors could choose to not take those roles. it’s a two way street.

And I'm telling you it's not how that works. If Evan doesn't take the role someone else will. If the second person refuses, then the third will take the role. So on and so on. We would have to forbid it by law to get the outcome you're speaking of. We don't have the power to change it and we don't want to. You are speaking for yourself and looking at it idealistically. If Netflix came up to me and offered millions of dollars for a role depicting a real life murderer I would accept it without batting an eye. Like, I'm sorry for your suffering but I'm taking my 10 million dollars and an award. Again, you're dismissing and not addressing the fact that it's the people who wanna watch these kinda shows, they don't want to stop them being created. I am sorry for what happened to the victims but I also enjoyed the show and I'm happy Evan's acting skills are recognized. Separate art from real life.

I don't know if you realise how horrifically insensitive you sound or :fatcat:

I agree the series is a series and we have had movies etc about traumatic times for like.. the whole history of cinema but the way you have just said it is messy af :oprah:

Some of y'all legit sound like psychopaths trying to downplay the grief of a victim's family :bradley: I don't care how much artistic merit there is behind the final product, this mother has a right share how she feels. Yikes @ some of y'all!

Cause telling it how it is means I am emotionally bankrupt. :oprah: If you say so.

I kinda agree with them regarding his speech, like the part about hoping some good will come out of the series…like what exactly? I felt like that was so tone deaf.

Lmao. Or I just know how to separate real life events from a TV show. Also, you're acting as if I'm in some kind of sick minority, as if the show wasn't trending, taking number 1 spot on Netflix for weeks and being praised by everyone. Liking a TV show =/= liking or supporting real life events being depicted.

If people here are trying to downplay the loss of a loved one, grief and trauma; then I am very happy for you. You have presumably not had these misfortunes in your lifetime.
I lost my brother 4 years ago and each day is just as difficult as the last.
Watching my mother still dealing with it is even worse. Absolute heartbreak!

Funding for research on psychopathy and mental illness, empathy towards victims and impact on community, etc.

She has every right to feel how she feels and we have no right to say she’s in the wrong.
