Obviously pop girl stans want pop singers to win and not a song that they’ve probably never heard before. And I’m also not sure that those 17 year old stans ever colonized countries but ok. HOWEVER, when they started commenting about how it was a diversity ploy is where this going out of the line. That stuffs make me sick, the way non white winning are always connected to diversifying attempt of an award show or such. Can't these non Western songs or movies or anything actually wins with the angle such as based of merits, or that they are really good? In fact, I disagree with many of the globe winners on the film side. I think the HFPA sometimes makes wildcard picks just to stand out and generate buzz. If the pop girl fans stopped living in their bubble they would know Naatu Naatu has been leading the odds for a while. It’s a great song and is a well deserved award.
