Well Alberta is there... I recently found out about the old Ukrainian buildings there, many churches and museums with Eastern European history in Alberta. The praiers of North America wouldn't be the first place where one would expect traditional Eastern European wooden architecture.

Countries are 100% bribing agencies, magazines etc for tourism promotion. Not that is hard to believe in of itself, but I even heard it from someone with connections that works in the field.

My guess is that in addition to payola, the writer is MAGA trash.  EVIDENCE

1.  Wisconsin is purple state that just re-elected one of the worst republican senators.

2.  Alberta likes to think it is the Texas of Canada, but in reality, it is the ALABAMA of Canada.  The most MAGA part of Canada.  (but you're right about the Ukrainian heritage stuff being cool.  I grew up one province to the west where Ukrainians founded a large portion of the cities there)

3.  Slovenia is the home country of Melania Trump
