And you could argue that her face was mostly concealed... except there's this one too which is literally just her... she had a whole era before she hit huge mainstream popularity where she never concealed her face. I don't get why it was such a MYSTERY to the whole freaking world

 

She wasnt mainstream worldwide before Chandelier and the average media consumer wont look much into it.

She said before she had sudden anxiety issues arise alongside her illness which causes issues that are very predominantly shown in the face and she was very insecure about it.

I know this! But I'm more meaning that the GP went mental over WHO IS SHE?? This enigmatic woman with no face! It's a mystery for the ages! And they could've literally just googled. Idk why it was that dramatic

You kinda answered yourself with that sentence. It's a popstar thing to do some branding and it was mostly a thing to capture attention from the audience. She could build up that vulnerable image and people love to see when famous people are talking about emotions so everyone can relate to. On less serious note, thanks to huge wig she could also avoid to look at people or being seen, so she could probably phase out on most of events which are exhausting, I like to think about it like black shades that a lot of famous people wear so people won't read them easily. Sia worked in the industry for the long time before she exploded into mainstream so she knew how the industry prospers and how draining it is, she prepared herself. But it's all just my opinion.

She has ehlers danlos syndrome and graves disease but its not the reason why she hid her face.

The hair covering her face was an experiment she wanted to try with 1000 Forms of Fear just so she could go to the supermarket and not have people recognize her while her recent hits were playing. This concept kept going for some standalone singles and This Is Acting because it worked and it became like a signature of her. She obviously knows people are a google search away from seeing her face and it's no secret what she looks like. Whenever she was invited to night shows she'd just take the wig off when the cameras weren't rolling, it was just as a performance. She had a career, several albums and music videos so of course it's no secret what she looks like. It was just a pop music thing. People think too much of it lol.

This is pretty much it tbh

She did a really interesting interview with Loui Theroux and explained that she was actually not up for getting back into the limelight after mediocre success mixed with lots of drug abuse. 

She then wrote Titanium which was meant to be for someone else, but David Guetta released it with her vocals (she wasn't aware this was going to happen and was mad at first).

Then of course she totally blew up after Titanium. 

No doubt the wigs are a tactic for image/sales but it's definitely deeper then that.
