Cars slide off Seattle hills after ice storm

Couldn’t go anywhere today. Literally used used stop signs to catch myself at intersections because the sidewalk is nothing but ice.

I’ve been at the airport in a line to get my cancelled flight rescheduled for nearly 4 hours. I do not think I’ll be home for Christmas 😢

I’ve heard SeaTac is an absolute nightmare right now. Getting home in one piece is all that matters though. If you’re a little late, you’re a little late.

I don’t care where you are from. You cannot drive on ice. Snow, maybe, ice…you have no business being out driving.

Agreed, it will be what it will be! Saftey first and a story to tell. It is a nightmare here for sure but may be even worse to drive away from here. We shall see. Still in line!

Why do I feel like this is what the roads around a GagaDaily convention would look like even in nice weather?

Do they not salt the roads where this is filmed? Ice should not form to this extent if the roads are prepared properly

You definitely shouldn’t drive when there’s ice like this on the streets but who am I to talk… I did (had) to do it several times.

Nope. Seattle doesn’t salt the roads OR plow them unless they’re major arteries. Horrible mixture of freak ice storm (for the area), unpreparedness, and steep hills results in this. They actually just close a lot of the really steep streets and call it a day in some neighborhoods.

We’ve just had this here in Germany on Monday too  there were videos of people iceskating on the streets
