Gaga especially in her earlier career had that videogame element. I am appreciative for the work and music Blood Pop and her have made together but it is a bit bland and underwhelming at times on both Joanne and Chromatica. With that said after ARTPOP, the biggest thing fans asked for was a normal pop album full of hits. Chromatica delivered exactly what fans asked from her from her next pop album. It has a lot of great pop tracks but most of them couldve been sang by anyone. Unfortunately, I really only felt Alice, Replay and 911 were tracks that had her signature on it and those were a bit tame. Meanwhile on ARTPOP, I struggle to think of any other artist that could pull off Aura, Venus, G.U.Y., ARTPOP, Donatella, Swine, Gypsy, Mary Jane Holland, Dope, and Applause. Alternatively, ARTPOP was unfocused and genre wise was all over the place. Chromatica was very consistent with the vibe, sound, and genre influences. yes, gaga in her early career has that "video games" element coz her vision are into electronic and futuristic. by i said blood got to much influence for chromatica is because if u follow behind the scene, she use some people around blood's friends from production, chromatica's design visual, etc. chromatica indeed very consistent from vibe, sound since they really making a classic house music. destined to play from the begining to the end, no skip no shuffle. and ARTPOP, this album is not just music, it's an art movement. she did mention she wanna make like warhol did with popart. thats why her vision so big, from the music, fashion, performances, technology but crash with the team, it was a mess. but i hope she find peace with ARTPOP and can start over the movement, because ARTPOP could be anything

Nycboy 1,092
I think objectively Chromatica is the better album, but sadly it’s not aging well. I don’t find myself revisiting it much anymore. It’s so streamlined and has way less personality than ARTPOP. Chromatica’s songs are more like generic Kim Petras pop without any unique production at all, so I’m already quite bored by the album. Although I think ARTPOP is a weaker album, it feels soooo much more Gaga. The music is rich and dense. The production is unique. The lyrics are exciting. It keeps drawing me back in 10 years later. ARTPOP has a stronger emotional quality.
