A-YO Appreciation

A-YO went to be in my Top 10 favorite Gaga Songs the past week. I think it‘s showing the fun side of Gaga that we know from The Fame or some of ARTPOP, yet have it be more refined and stylized. She‘s also serving insane vocals and I really love the looks she‘d wear during it‘s mini-Era. To be honest - for me, it would‘ve probably been a better first Single choice than Perfect Illusion, because it‘s not as „loud“ and it sets the tone for Joanne better.. I imagine the Video to be kinda Coyote Ugly however with the same comedic undertones as John Wayne‘s Video has. Let‘s give it up for A-YO!

The Dive Bar Version >>>>. I remember when she first performed it I was blown away. I wish the studio version was that full with massive layered vocals and huge guitars. This song was MEANT to be played live.

Get off on me/My body’s got you pleadin’/Light me up and breathe in/Mirror on the ceiling!

I wish I wrote that! I think A-Yo has amazing lyrics. I do wish she had kept the Hilary Lindsay harmonies from the dive bar version. They gave it something extra in the chorus and second verse (notably “Faster than you can try to hate it!”)

SpadesToStart

I always thought it would have made the best lead single off Joanne. It’s catchy, fun, accessible, and more representative of the album direction than Perfect Illusion
