It’s definitely not as good as I remember.  The writing is SOOO bad.  The first 30 minutes are great and then it just derails.  Although Gaga did the absolute best with what she was given, Bradley made some questionable choices as director.  The music still slaps tho

If you think the writing and pacing on ASIB is bad, wait til you watch House of Gucci. :iamfair:

Yeah it's so strange because the 'flirty' lines are just so... awkward? But the love story is believable because of the chemistry and the acting. I personally really enjoy the ending because the acting and editing is soooo good and somehow the argument and emotional scenes have such a better flow? Like they feel more believable in terms of the script.

This is like the third thread that spreads hate against the movies Gaga played in.

It’s not bad, I’d say it’s every bit as good overall as it’s acclaim suggests, but it’s script is a bit weaker than it’s final overall quality allows one to remember. It shows what the power of an excellent cast and great filmmaking can achieve. With a lesser cast and less impressive filmmaking techniques, the screenplay weaknesses would be far more visible but as is, they quietly slip mostly under the radar once you’re caught in it.

Tbh I found the dialogue more 'real' and believable than 90% of Hollywood movies and that's something I always liked about it from the beginning.

The shy, clunky, awkward conversation they have in the bar about her nose when they're flirting. It felt so much more real than the usual cliches and quippy one-liners and smooth talk you always see in movies

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
