Meat 18,962
12 minutes ago, Mr Mendes said: It’s nothing to do with American’s taste being an outlier, it was just an underwhelming (poor really in my and many people’s summaries) film and most people who saw it felt the same judging by the critic and audience reviews. The audience score is 83% though. I don’t think a “poor” movie would have those ratings based on certified reviews.
HermioneT 1,998
7/10 As I said in a other thread, for me personally it's a perfect movie: no horror and blood, not too much suspense, beautiful scenery and people, great 70/80 vibe, nice Italy shots and you know what expects you. However, I can't ignore that it feels kind of lengthy towards the end and it lacks something in storytelling and focus. She / hers
RAMROD 109,465
I rated it 8/10 initially. And all thats because of Gaga and Jared performances. But now I'd rate it 7.5/10 overall. MOT 3,033
6/10. It's a long way from being the worst movie I've ever seen, but they had a good story to work with and a good cast and surely they could have done better. I give Gaga 8/10. I thought she did really well despite the handicap of having to wrestle with the accent. I think the objective of the project was to make money rather than a classic movie. Job done. That’s true, but RT fan scores (the same with MC fan scores) are rife with fan manipulation for every film that is associated with any sort of stan base (Marvel, any film starring notable musicians, etc). They’re just as deceptive as an actual RT score is (the critics score on RT should never be used; MC is the most accurate view of critic reception). CinemaScore is the most unbiased poll of audience reception. There it has a B+ which puts in the middle of the pack in terms of reception (a 60% recommend; scores in the Ds and Fs are rare for CinemaScore so the C- to A+ range is usually where most mainstream studio films fall). Another safe to use metric due to their strict moderation is Letterboxd where it has a 3.0/5 star rating, so another 60%. So that would mean audiences found it to be mostly pretty average at best, with some smaller samples of people loving it and some smaller samples hating it on either side. The RT fan score is significantly higher than all audience scores including the ones that have the same issues as RT such as IMDB and MC. General audiences shrugging their shoulders upon watching it does pretty much indicate a movie that is widely viewed as poor or perhaps not poor but unworth it or uninteresting bc mind you really genuinely terrible movies have performed pretty well in general audience polls like CinemaScore before. It getting a B+ there is quite damning.
Prostitute Barbie 4,077
6/10. I like it but not as much as ASIB which I enjoy seeing many times. Gucci is kind of like seeing a play for me. Fun experience and happy I did it but no real need to go watch it again.
