What would you rate HOG on a scale 1-10?

Firstly, I gotta say that my HOG experience was quite different from most people: I wasn't shocked with Gaga's Oscar snub, because I don't think she deserved to be nominated  (I blame it mostly on the editing, she was in many scenes, but they were very short); I liked Jared Leto's acting ; and the movie overall was okay.

Having said that, I'd rate it 6/10

I'd do 8/10. I think the story lost it's way when we lost the narration from Patricia. But I enjoyed the story. There were some funny parts and some glamorous parts.

I think it ended up being a broader plot, but still an interesting story. The characters weren't likeable by the end, imo. There was no hero that we could go away feeling good about. 

There were coughers in the theatre, so I was more comfortable at home later, but then without coughers it was a second viewing.

I wish she would eventually play the hero in a movie with a Hollywood ending, you know where the good win and live and the bad loses. I would not consider either ASIB nor hog to have hollywood endings.

I would say 8. I saw it five times in theater just like ASIB. ASIB is still top for me. I can maybe host a movie night to watch it if my computer will work enough to do it.

Like a 6. Gaga’s scenes are better than the film overall, though Jared Leto was enjoyable and I liked Salma Hayek  too even though that character felt very random (I laughed at the scene when Gaga is arguing with the hitmen though her).

Gaga is great in it and she carries the whole film. But it's too long and doesn't explain enough of the story.

Overall it's entertaining because of all the messiness, it's a borderline trainwreck.

Structurally, the movie is a disaster. The pacing is horrendous, the story lacks focus, and the way that unfocused story is pieced together in the edit is haphazard with no regard for smooth story telling. It is genuinely one of the worst edited films I’ve ever seen, and film is my life so that’s saying something. 

Yea, artistically and aesthetically the movie is successful, but that cannot hold a movie that is 20 minutes shy of 3 hours long together. Ridley Scott seems lost with the material, not one single cast member seems on the same page with the rest of the cast, and the whole thing meanders and plods along until it reaches an unsatisfying ending. 

It’s nothing to do with American’s taste being an outlier, it was just an underwhelming (poor really in my and many people’s summaries) film and most people who saw it felt the same judging by the critic and audience reviews.

5 or 6  I enjoyed watching it but got really bored. My boyfriend also liked it.

There’s lots of cringe. Including Jared ofc, a pitty what they did with that character. Gaga does a good job, don’t think she’s that consistent but def her moments are the most entertaining and she is the one that gives meaning and direction to the movie.

I would say 9/10. All of my friends loved the movie so it was even better to watch it with them. The only thing I didn’t like was the editing, otherwise it was really entertaining.
