She could purchase carbon credit  offsets. This is what Bill Gates does to offset the private plane usage to be environmentally neutral. She could also invest in esg companies, as venture capital, with good environmental scores. Electric planes are in development, but I don't think are in use yet. Buying shares after ipo doesn't help the companies as much, imo.

I thought the paparazzi on the airport tarmacs for LG Chromatica flights was apalling. I did not need photos at the airport.

It’s amazing how she is the only celebrity everyone loves to point to when it comes to the private jet as if she is the only one who uses one. 

She is correct that this jeopardizes her safety. The whereabouts of celebrities at all times should not be public. Multiple celebrities have been killed by people who’ve managed to get ahold of where exactly they will be and when, and it will happen again if we start making this information public.

She isn’t and you know she isn’t. It is very fair and valid criticism because it’s excessive and extremely damaging to the environment for a sole individual (or small party) to make. She gets the heat because she’s one of the worst offenders.

She is scared of when she lands in a city via private jet with private security and escorts, a private vehicle (if not multiple), but isn't scared to show YouTube the layout of her home or her millions of followers which studio or home she's in. Make it make sense. Because no other celebrity is making a big stink about their private jet having flight data publicly available.

Entertaining thread  I've seen a couple of things mentioned and want to give my 2c

1. You cannot criticise Taylor's jet use if you eat meat, drive to work, use plastic

It's ridiculous to compare someone worth half a billion dollars to your average Joe. It's a poor attempt at a gotcha. To be quite frank unless corporations make equitable changes we can't save the earth. Sure we can ride a bike to work or recycle but they are completely different levels of impact.

2. Why mention Taylor and no other celebrity?

This is literally a Taylor thread. Anybody who uses their private jets so often is criticised. She's a popular celebrity who takes a lot of flights so of course she will drive discussion  If you look outside of stan spaces every corporation, celebrity, multimillionaire/billionaire has been criticised for this exact thing. 

3. It's an invasion of privacy

Please correct me if I'm wrong but as far as I know every single flight is tracked. It's public information and not exclusive to Taylor

4. She has stalkers

This is true. It's also true that numerous (famous) people have their location sought at all times. I'm not minimising the anxiety surrounding stalking, I literally had PTSD from my own experiences. I just don't think a website that tracks 99% of flights is a reason to ignore any criticism of her jet use. Flights are monitored for a reason.

There are ways she could reduce her carbon footprint but she doesn't. There are ways she could use her wealth/platform to benefit the earth but she doesn't. I'm not expecting her to but the criticism she receives is (often) justified.

actually she did reduce her carbon footprint by selling 1 of her 2 jets. given that we almost never even seen her publicly in 2020/2021 it is safe to say her jets are loaned to her friends/collogues etc, which is the official statement of her PR person. im sure her footprint will be a lot smaller than other celeb by this year's end now that she isnt doing that anymore. 

 im not saying she shouldnt be criticized, just that her getting more antsy than other celebs is justified given she has a lot more run-ins with the crazies.

Eh this sounds like deflection since the info wasn’t like stolen or something lmao flight data is public data anyone can look up. Honestly, ultra rich people being like “it’s doxxing!” “I’m terrified!” sounds like a load of bs. And it isn’t like this leak would be something of information a *real stalker wouldn’t already know. Like this is pretty simple, low hanging fruit for a stalker I’d imagine

You think others don't have run-ins or they just don't publicize it? Maybe she should spend a little more on security than taking her jet from one end of LA to the other.

I actually (lightly) looked into it and a full commercial flight from, say, NYC to LA pollutes FAR LESS than driving that same distance would.

The main issue with private flights is their insane inefficiency. It's spewing all that pollution to have one person or a small group of people shuttled around where as commercial flights can get dozens or even hundreds of people from point a to point b in a relatively efficient way.

And sometimes it's necessary. World leaders definitely need private flights.

But if Gaga can simply book first class on a commercial flight, so can Taylor and every other entertainer 

It's as simple as letting public figures deplane first with security. Not a big deal.
