I hope people don't blame her for this. IF this is even true, it sounds like he went behind her back. I feel bad for her...also, it's interesting that so many pop stars have troublesome fathers.

We’re lucky Joe’s too busy trying to sell fried chicken and pasta.

Well isn’t Joe in charge of Gaga’s finances? Technically, he is the owner of her music publishing company, so all that money goes through him, or at least used to. Not to mention the fact he sits at the BTW Foundation board of directors, so he’s pretty involved with his daughter’s businesses.

Yes, or fathers involved with their daughter’s careers. Like, manager is a real job.

Joe in charge of Chromatica Ball stage budget. I knew I smelled Republican all over that mess.

Seems like negotiations ended nearly 2 years ago and never made it past surface level. I'm sure dozens of artists went through the same conversation.

but also… it’s hard to believe that Dua had no idea? Like why would a manager go thru all that trouble if he didn’t know his act would even be down with the idea…?

You wouldn’t believe what my father has done and arranged without me knowing about it… they then tell you later thinking we love what they have arranged only to find out that we don’t. :saladga: This is such a typical father thing to do. Doesn’t surprise me at all

Ps: and of course it's usually meant to be "for us" like my dad always wants to act in my best interest as any father would. It's not to harm us. Dua's father obviously didn't wanna harm the career of his daughter. He just wanted to get a great deal, but didn't think about it further. This happens a lot. It also happens with Gaga's dad I think. Sometimes she probably doesn't know that he speaks about her with the press etc. and says some questionable things. It's a different generation after all.

It's not just manager thing, he is also her dad. And dad does parents things, typic9 the conservative ones,  arranging stuffs in secret,  thinking they know what's best for their children. But do they though? 9 outta 10 the answer is they don't. It only ended up upsetting the kids when they found out.   :diane:

Parents managing their children is such a bad thing. I see so many people being influenced/pressured by their parents for the smallest things to the biggest life decisions. And parents always do stuff in the back assuming it's what their children need even without asking. Being managers gives them the power to do all this stuff and you should avoid that.

I never understand why would celebrities, artists etc. would appoint their family members as their managers, unless they are professionally qualified. It’s like sitting on a plane and asking your dad to be the pilot.

her father was a singer.
he also founded marketing and media managment - Republika.
Dua was in some Republika's campaigns before she became famous.

In 2018 her father founded his annual festival in Kosovo.
He was also certainly involved in Dua's entire career before he became her manager.

Ah okay, that explains the involvement then. If he is qualified of course then, good for him.
