Kim Petras has responded to criticism that her concert etiquette is something unholy. The singer was filmed catching up with Euphoria grad Barbie Ferreira while Rina Sawayama performed her emotional ballad “Send My Love to John” during a recent concert at the Hollywood Palladium.
Footage of the conversation was posted to TikTok with the caption, “this video didn’t do it justice, she was practically screaming.”

After the video made its way to Twitter, Petras explained that she hadn’t seen Ferreira “in forever,” adding that the person who shot the video had the option to move. “there was literally no reason to stand behind us since there was an entire empty section right next to us,” Petras tweeted. “this person chose to film our conversation instead of wanting to hear Rina . We went back to the front and sang along.” Let’s just hope that no one in the audience was talking during Sawayama’s “STFU!” set.

i am so tired of seeing this

it's truly not that serious at all.

like people wanna act like this is the most heinous thing to happen at a concert when people are throwing **** at artists left and right, getting into fights in the pit, yet oh no Kim wants to catch up with a friend. what about everyone else that's talking too? it's not like they're the only ones.

my god please concern yourself with something else that actually matters.

this is reminding me of the sassy gays behind me at TCB who started talking about anime while she was performing Enigma or smth.., or maybe it was during an interlude :saladga: a few ladies and i turned around and looked at them in a weird way because they were starting to talk **** about Gaga and call her a bitch. like just enjoy the damn concert, damn.

I wish she didn’t respond because I swear to God today breathing alone will get people upset with you and start headlines and then you’ll have to issue a statement or apology for breathing too loud. Istg if I was famous, I wouldn’t give a rats ass what people on social media think. Not people pointing the finger at everything like they’re perfect. Get out of here.

I hate people having unrelated loud conversations during concerts and movies. You can take this somewhere else. If you're not here for the show, why even bother with the ticket? I honestly had to stop going to live shows because people's behavior is so awful and after two years in quarantine my ability to cope has waned.

not even that loud

It's honestly terrible here. I've been at multiple shows where artists on stage literally stopped to ask people to be quiet. And once the artist left the stage and came down to speak with distracting audience members face to face because they didn't even notice they were being addressed from stage. Also, I was not there but one band infamously ended their show early because the crowd was talking and they felt disrespected. A lot of people treat concerts like they're just places to go out and be seen here.

This isn’t to blame Rina whatsoever but this can happen when you play smaller venues.  If you’re toward the back where it’s less crowded people will usually talk sometimes. If you have a problem with it, you can just move instead of videoing it. Also yea she’s being loud, but I can clearly hear other people talking too.
