This is not really a sound argument. But for nuclear weapons, we would've had a moral duty to intervene and stop this, even if it cost us lives. It is absolutely selfish to think otherwise.

What would you have said in WW2? Would you have said no to americans liberating europe and stopping Hitler's genocide of 6 million jews and others? With this logic, it would've been convenient to just shield the 132 million americans from war, because 132M > 6 million jews in the concentration camps. I hope you now see how much of a big sacrafice this was. People died in order for you and me to be born on this free land, remember that.

Nobody likes war. But sometimes the world has a collective responsability to stop mass genocides. But this debate is pointless, because nuclear weapons changed this. And NATO and Russia will never fight each other (with or without Zelensky's appeals, which seem to have upset you). As a matter of fact, this sets the precedent for nuclear powers to do whatever the heck they want without being stopped.

It is absolutely a sound argument because the wellbeing of 966M people is more important than that of 44M. It is selfish to think otherwise  because you have a visceral reaction to unjustice and want it resolved without accounting the risks, meaning you selfishly put YOUR feelings over the safety of millions.

And your numbers and presentation of WW2 are false. WW2 didn't only affect 6M Jews but the entire population of Europe (hundreds of millions). And the US didn't step in to save people, it did so for geopolitical interests, it's naive to think otherwise (US did nothing when it comes to other genocides like Holomodor or the Armenian Genocide. And does nothing when it comes to Palestine today.) For these reasons, Americans need to abandon the saviour complex some in your country have.

I am curious, what is your opinion on US not helping Armenia when it was invaded by Azerbaijan a few months ago? Why the territorial integrity of Ukraine matters more, is it because America has this inate desire to bring justice or because Ukraine aligns with US's geopolical interests? Hmmm wonder what could it be.

Like nuclear power Israel occupying internationally recognized Palestinian and Syrian territories including East Jerusalem and Golan Heights with US approval?

Sorry to burst your anybody's bubble but this right here is the precedent.
