But can’t you see that logic can also be applied to them too? In other cultures they allow people to consume alcohol. In different cultures they allow lgbt people to exist. In other cultures, women are allowed to participate. If they do badly wanted to open their doors to the world then they are the ones that need to make accommodations for their guests. Laws were changed in Brazil in order for alcohol to be sold in the World Cup stadiums in 2014. Aside from all the other obvious things, if Qatar’s culture has such an issue with alcohol (among other things) they should have never even bid to be a host nation. This just goes to further show how corrupt FIFA is to allow this country to buy the World Cup. With regards to the alcohol portion of the debate (excluding the human rights issues).... It's usually companies and institutions or groups that have to adapt to a countries laws not the other way around. Hence why multi-national Corporations usually operate somewha differently in different branches that are in different countries I do not think if alcohol is a banned substance in Qatar or in public etc that Fifa should be playing victim here Although they do have a right to complain in the sense they flip flopped. If they had made the decision to allow it then they are in the wrong for changing it last minute. So in that sense I think they are wrong But in terms of ur argument that they have to host all sponsors... That's the kind of way of operating that u can expect them to have to change not the Nation
