I don't get the big deal. If its not allowed in thier country then people should respect thier culture and move on? Not every country/culture/people are going to be like you. 

That aside, I will be boycotting these games due to the many human rights violations Qatar refuses to resolve. No alcohol is the least of my concerns.

Apparently, host nations have to accept all of FIFA’s sponsors in order to host the event. Laws were changed in Brazil in order for alcohol to be sold in the World Cup stadiums in 2014. Aside from all the other obvious things, if Qatar’s culture has such an issue with alcohol (among other things) they should have never even bid to be a host nation. This just goes to further show how corrupt FIFA is to allow this country to buy the World Cup.

It’s the fact that they kept flip flopping on things and the issue is just religion in general. Qatar has a religion based government and just like any other religion based government around the world, it’s literally dehumanizing 99% of the people who live in that country.

I can understand the sponsor situation. This is something Qatar and FIFA should have discussed before, but I don't think a country should not be allowed to host the games if they don't allow alcohol. Its called the World Cup, and that means a lot of different cultures/religions/values that are different from your own.

Where did you get that 99% figure from? Have you even visited any middle eastern countries? I got to visit several Middle Eastern countries in my life + met many individuals from these places and your statement sounds so ignorant.

Did I ever say middle eastern? I’m saying all religious based governments. There’s many. Religion in government does nothing but dehumanize people and cause harm and death. Not an opinion, just a fact. The 99% is an obvious exaggeration just to get my point across. 
 

also saying “yOuRe cOmMeNt is IgNoRaNt” doesn’t make it not true. if you wanted to bring up middle eastern, look at Qatar who still k!lls gay people, Iran who not only k!lled a woman for wearing her hijab apparently not even properly, but also is wanting to kill every protestor who is imprisoned rn to “teach others a lesson”.
 

But also look at the United States. Christianity is dehumanizing us in the states. Abortion ban, wanting to overturn gay marriage, wanting to force religion into schooling, wanting there to be Christianity as the “main religion” and forcing others like Islam and Judaism out.
