No. Theres something missing about Ava, she doesn’t grab your attention and pull you in- just no allure to her.

Unpopular opinion : with her formulaic songs that all sound the same and manufactured image, I still find her more talented than Dua

I have to agree with you in terms of talent. Ava CAN outsing Dua, but Ava lacks the personality, passion and unique character. I agree with everyone saying Ava is manufactured and calculated and you can detect certain Gaga-ness in her and she vehemently denies it. Her last song has Gaga's iconic ma-ma-ma-ma. But her songs can very well be another artists' and you cannot tell it was Ava's to begin with.

It feels very uncanny. As if you know this artist, she looks like someone you know, she sounds like someone you know but she isnt that person. Ava could very well be a robot and that is that uncanny unsettling feeling she gives me. You wanted Froot Loops but you got Great Value brand and something is off even if it smells and taste similar. Cant deny her singing talent though. She just cant find her "own" thing that sets her apart.

Seriously as much Ava is so talented and can hit those notes, they made her look like all the other blonde pop stars. They should not have gone blonde edgy popstar cause she already looks so much like other popstars.

She really lacks strong branding and character.

Dua is on her own lane. Doesn't sounds or look like anybody. People don't confuse her to another women. That is a tall order for the other one already. :poot:

And as such, the industry seems to warm up to Dua more. Cos she is a breathe of fresh air.

Didn’t Cher drag a Dua fan for calling her the new Cher :giggle:

OT: No, both have their own lane and are doing great.

IDK just one person is not enough.

bybthe way, seems Dua also leading in income too, since most her recording are original songs, not using interpolation or samples. And she had a world tour already. She is definitely not a niche act. :giggle:

what is your problem with sampling? Ava is not the only one who uses it and her biggest hit didn't have any sample. Dua's singles from FN, Love Again and Break My Heart, were heavily sampled.

I have to agree with most of you that she is not that interesting as an artist, but she sounds great and to me it seems like she is having fun with performing. Tbh I find Dua just as boring, even if she has more uniqeness and charisma.

I think Ava could have been bigger if her debut album was released earlier

Ava has a better voice with more range but dua has more charismatic appeal imo

Pronounced like “Balenciaga” . Emphasis on the “Ga”

She's way too manufactured and soulless on stage. It consistently gives American Idol, and that's not a good thing :wtfga:

Also her voice is average at best, she sounds like someone who's really good at karaoke lol :bear:

Dua is a better performer with more interesting music so I would say no atm.

Imo Ava needs to show her voice more in her music to get as big as Dua but in her way...

Cause these years of forgettable tunes/ okay "dancy" performances in European awards show didn't lead her to the next step.

Heaven & Hell is every bit as good as Future Nostalgia :legend:

Ava is a significantly more talented vocalist, but her record label doesn't support her the same way Dua's does. If she had the budget and promo opportunities Dua does, they would be on the same level of acclaim.

This new album is gonna send her to the stratosphere imo. It’s a great album and I seriously think every song could kill with the right promo.

Turn Off The Lights is KILLER and would be a perfect single (she needs to release it), Ghosts is so good and a bop, Cold as Ice is prob one of her best songs, Diamonds & Dancefloors is surprisingly a really great title track, just a super good pop album.

im just surprised My Head & My Heart wasn’t a bigger hit, it’s miles better than the new nostalgia driven songs like I’m Good and used the sample way better
