palma 8,174
I hope gays know better than streaming whatever this is. Qatar is practically a slave economy with TERRIBLE record on human rights - LGBTQ+ included. Is there some reason my LG7 isn't here? Has she died or something? Lady Gaga performed in Dubai 8 years ago and accepted not showing off to much skins at her concert because she 'respects the culture of the country'. If those artists need to be called out for making music at this event (everybody will make his own opinion on this), you'll also definitely need to call out everyone who went there to make money doing shows there. While I personally wouldn’t even visit UAE, let alone perform there, I don’t think we can completely equate making a stop in Dubai for your world tour with making a song for Qatar’s world cup. These artists are actively working to promote the country (and everything it represents). I agree that Gaga shouldn’t have visited there though. Nor she should’ve been involved in Azerbaijan’s European Games (or whatever it was). Is there some reason my LG7 isn't here? Has she died or something? So just because Lady Gaga visited Dubai, we should not call out a country that quite literally kills gay people and enslaved thousands of south Asian men to build this stadium? It's literally not what I meant. I was just saying if the artists involved in the entertaiment of this event need to be called out here all those big artists who regularly visit this country for gigs over the decades and making money from it also need to be called out. I've not see many people round here saying Gaga was homophobic, money craving and desparate for performing there and submitting to the country's 'culture' in the past. I mentionned Gaga but but LGBT friendly stars like Madonna, Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Beyoncé, Katy Perry and so on could also be mentionned for sure.
