Love the activism but why is it so focused on art lol why not glue yourself to a football stadium during a match or smth

I would not call protests against climate change inaction "craziness." And the more you post and share this kind of thing, the more it will be done. The point of protests like this is to combat silence and inattention. So any coverage is desired.

Tbf there wouldn't be less coverage if they glued themselves to ministries or company HQs. This way they're just alienating people who might have been on the fence before and they're simply 'punishing' regular people instead of those in power.

No. Actually these have gotten more coverage than the man who set himself on fire outside the U.S. Supreme Court. The outrage fuels clicks and gets farther.

that's what makes it feel so staged, i get the vibe the museum owners get paid to stage these "protests" and probs switch out the art for duds over night or sumthin

I reaffirm myself. Of course something needs to be done but it has to be destroying (or trying to, till now it seems nothing was damaged;  a bit surprising btw) art that has been there for ages? The cause is good but these means are just alienating people, backfiring the whole point

they'd get beat up by savage sports fans so they resort to museums full of old people & gays with acquired taste  I kind of like the activism too. I'm conflicted on them doing it to really priceless works of art but they havn't done any permanent damage to anything yet so I'm kind of ok with it so far I guess.

These activists seem delusional to be honest, social media has turned people into narcissists who think they're martyrs with these stunts. Being a nuisance won't do anything useful to stop climate change and just annoys people. Actually coming up with solutions and learning to sensibly and respectfully persuade people will drive real change.

Probably harder than it sounds. U gonna metal detect and strip search every person that comes in or make belongings go thru x-ray like at an airport to make sure ppl don't have glue or cans of soup?
