Didn't the Saudis (and rest of the Gulf countries) only just side with the Russians over the oil production? I see no reason for Iran, the greatest ally of the Russians, to attack now. Sure, they hate the Saudis but the timing is weird.

Maybe they wish to distract/suppress their populace via an external war but I don't think they have the necessary military force, especially with Russia being in a deplorable state and all.

I'm all in for the both regimes to destroy each other with no harm done to civilians but knowing them... This will get real messy if it is to happen.

Iran has accused Saudi Arabia (along with many other countries) of propping up the protests in the country. These accusations are obviously untrue, but this is likely why Iran may be planning an attack.

A horrible disaster. I dislike Saudi Arabia a lot for its genocide in Yemen, being a puppet of the West, having its human rights issues ignored because it is an ally of the West etc...but still. An attack by Iran would be horrible for the entire region and put it in even greater danger than it already is. My gosh...the poor civilians and life that will be lost will be huge if war breaks out.
