I was so shocked to finally witness it. Literally here a large milk is 3.4€, meanwhile before Covid and so on it was like 1,40-1,50 :messga: food is super expensive now. For my country’s standards

I remember making a thread back in 2021 asking if ppl were concerned about the prospect of Inflation and almost everyone said no like I was crazy :toofunny:

But yeah it's not pleasent at all. I do not like my grocery bills and cost to fill up my car :air:

Still I will try not to complain because ATM I'm not in a tough situation like many people, I had to move back to my parents cuz my apartment had a mould issue so for the moment I'm comfortable enough.

Yeah here it’s soo bad with the fuel economy. The government started a national discount programme for people who don’t have enough resources to fill up their cars.

Where is that? Here there will never be such program :selena:

We did double GST credits this year for low incomes tho and increased retirement OAS benefits for those over 75

That's just so sad. I live in the richest city in Europe (gdp per capita) and I will not even be able to pay for heater this winter... "Luckily" it's 23°C (74°F) at the end of october...

Europe's latest inflation rate reading hit a new high of 10.7% vs 9.9% last month

The EU also posted a slowing economy. The Central Bank also just recently raised interest rates by 0.75% to try to contain inflation

Meanwhile my country has like 170% inflation and the Central Bank lowers the interest rate on a steady basis for the last two years as our president believes it causes inflation - he declared himself an economist and all.

:bear:

Sorry for the news guys it just made me cackle at the situation I'm living in :billie:

Is there some reason my LG7 isn't here? Has she died or something?

What kind of idiot? If he doesn't understand that most basic thing he's no economist

Although politicians wanting lower rates is not unusual. It stimulates growth in the short term which is good politically for them

Also the typical person doesn't understand the need to raise rates when there's an inflation problem because they only thing they understand is the pain they feel from rising rates at the time which makes them want to demand lower rates

Just look at the US and Canada for example. Politicians are criticizing rising rates as is much of the population
