The misinformation on this thread :triggered:

You guys are supporting a criminal thinking you're slaying when his government ruined the whole country for 13 years and the corruption has been so good for powerful people that they got him back in power

Most of you are basing your opinions on some tweets and reddit topics when South American politics are far more intricate than that

Thank u very much for this!! At least one informed person in here

Populism is brazil's problem (and many other countries as well), both lula and bolsonaro uses it and both are evil for this, but at least one did things that benefited the population and it was lula. what bolsonaro did? the only good thing i remember is allowing people to invest on international stocks, but even tho its good, lets be real, it only benefits people with money

It was decades ago. bolsonaro keeps doing this as of today, and again, lula government was responsible for the creation of many of the laws that protect the rights of these minorities nowadays. bolsonaro encouraged disgusting people to not be ashamed of doing these crimes, and why would they? he defunded and corrupted the justice and police so much that these people are actually treated as heroes

even if thats the case, its not the first time that something like this happens. a minister of him needed to be fired after basically copy pasting a literal nazi speech from the 40s. and youre obviously playing stupid or lying to yourself denying this but im not impressed. its the most common thing among neofascists and neonazi, doing things that are obviously symbolism of these atrocious movements but when people come for them they try to act as if the accusers are the crazy ones since they were just "doing regular movements and it was all a coincidence" just like that one member of his government that did the OK symbol.

communism was a disgusting government indeed, and even tho they commited atrocities, the basic ideologies were never based on persecution to social groups like the nazi did. i do think is bizarre how people act as communist states are wonderful when in fact its not, as example: venezuela and cuba. but this doesnt give you the permission to excuse nazis, even tho you seem to be so ready to defend them here, which is kind of weird, ngl

And now leaving all these ideologies aside, bolsonaro was objectively the worst thing to happen to this country since the redemocratization (funnily enough as hes constantly defending the cause of why brazil needed one). He IS responsible for 400k of the covid deaths brazil had, and thats a fact, its not a theory, its not a probability. By delaying the deal to buy the vaccines, using the excuse of ideology when in fact he just wanted to make the one deal where he could steal more money, he was the responsible for this.

He also made the country a well known joke, as his ministers and himself were currently insulting and picking fights with other world leaders, like Emmanuel Macron.

He authorized a law, the secret budget, that is probably the biggest corruption scheme in brazil's history (even bigger than the Mensalão:udidnt:)

But lemme ask you, afterall i didnt have the chance yet, why do you think his government was better? what did he do that you think turned the country on a better place? i see no reason really, but even the more deluded mind might have one. So which is yours?

Superávit, lower inflation, more jobs, more productivity, less corruption, more freedom to speak (Lula promised social media censorship. All of this during/after a pandemic and in the middle of a war. It’s up there for u to research and I’m not trying to convince someone who doesn’t know to handle a classy conversation. I’m not here to be called a Nazi or anything of the sort just because I don’t blindly agree with the fairytale created by Lula and his suporters. Let’s not forget that Lula started to run the country when the economy was on the rise and all is the stars aligned for the country to prosper on a national and ww level bd even so he managed to put BNDES, Caixa Econômica, Petrobrás, Eletrobrás under risk

Also I can’t believe I’m seeing in this very thread a comparison between Brazil and Venezuela. The ignorance or argumentative opportunism is just too much :interestinga:

Your ignorance is just too much tbh. No one her stated Lula was a saint or a hero. And I don’t think there’s a 100% good politician in the world. Yes corruption was a problem but guess what? Bolsonaros government is full of corruption as well. 400 BILLIONS of reais basically stolen. It’s all over the news. Secrets kept for the next 100 YEARS? It doesn’t sound that honest either.

At least, Lula has always been respectful towards the people. He has never publicly supported a medicine without scientific evidence, he has never stated he has nothing to do with the deaths of thousands of people, he has never pretended to be out of breath to mock COVID victims. Beyond all the corruption and political mess, Bolsonaro is an evil person.

And you don’t need to reply this, I’m not gonna waste my time talking to people like you.

based on tweets and reddit? more like based on facts and news , also, who goes to reddit? no one is saying lula is a hero, a saviour a god or something else. it was stated many times by many users how we know that he was involved in many corruption cases. but so is bolsonaro. and lets not pretend bolsonaro is a newcommer in politics. hes been involved in corruption way before being elected president, as hes on politics for  about 3 decades

Superávit

Evry government on brazil's recent history but dilma's fist mandate ended with superavit, even temer's. but what matters this superavit if he created a debt of 400 bilion reais?

2 hours ago, Fernando said:

lower inflation

inflation was extremely low on temer's government (about 3%), but it started growing, even before the pandemics and today is 7%. the only one higher was on 2015, since brazil was having both a hydric crisis and going through recession due to the political crisis

less corruption

now this one is a funny lie. its not because you put 100 years sigil on every corruption investigation on your government that means your government has no corruption

2 hours ago, Fernando said:

more freedom to speak

as said before, lula likes to constantly say sh!t, thats one thing that he likes to do. the one whos trying to destroy freedom of speech is bolsonaro by constantly attacking the press and encouraging his followers to act with violence towards journalists. the freedom of speech youre talking about is freedom to say whatever lie or offensive thing you want and do not deal with the consequences of saying such, like elon is doing on twitter, but worse.

mind you, things starting getting worse way before both these events, in 2019. and this after receiving the country in a more stabilized situation after temer's short government

i say the same to you. investigate.

im not saying youre defending nazi just because youre attacking lula, its because you started defending them indeed

and bolsonaro enhanced it. much of these he said he'd privatize (which would be some of the few good things on his government) and guess what? he didnt.
