In the last few weeks, Lula supporters got murdered by Bolsonaro supporters. Today, the Election Day, the state and federal police forces are running roadblocks and searches on major roadways, causing traffic and delays especially in the Northeast region of Brazil, which’s majorly supporter of Lula and also the poorest region from Brazil. The elections chief ordered the head of the country's highway police to answer allegations that he had ordered traffic stops, particularly of buses transporting voters to the polls.US president Biden team is concerned about the possibility of a coup. They’re sending advisors to “help” the transition if Lula wins and have already warned Bolsonaro against election interference. UPDATE: Lula has been elected President of Brazil after victory in an unbelievably close race. With 97.5% counted, the socialist candidate has 50.75% of the vote to incumbent Jair Bolsonaro's 49.25%. This is his third term as President. UPDATE 2: Ever since the election, Bolsonaro supporters have been protesting, running roadblocks across the country and asking for military intervention. They claim the election has been rigged and they won't accept Lula as their president. Bolsonaro, who hasn't fully acknowledged his defeat, has released a statement claiming the protests are peaceful and welcomed, despite all the violence. The protests have been seen as "antidemocratic" by the authorities. Many NAZI imagery and salutes have been spotted in the protests. The brazilian German ambassador, Heiko Thoms, tweeted "The use of Nazi and fascist symbols by clearly far-right 'protesters' is deeply shocking. Apology of Nazism is a crime".
