I can do this in 1 min so i dont understand the vision it's too simple and matter-of-fact + it says nothing

I get you. :laughga: It's extremely abstract and won't appeal to everyone. For me, sometimes simple is nice.

If you think you can do that in a minute, post a video and prove it, or shut your stupid ass up.

Thank you! My favorite reply to these comments is always: "..., but you didn't. And it isn't in a museum"

That's the whole argument in the first place. That stuff like this isn't worth so much admiration

Also 1 minute is a figure of speech. U know they don't literally actually mean 60 seconds. Get with it :toofunny:

No I got that, but it's the same for people who say they can make it themselves.

...but they didn't. You don't like it and think it doesn't belong in a museum...but it is. And people payed money to get it there and people pay money to see it.

This argument is besides the fact whether I think the painting is nice or if I'd personally pay money to see it. All I'm trying to say that art isn't necessarily just about skills

It isn't, in many ways we are all artists

Well if what ur trying to debate is that ppl enjoy it... I have no quarrel with that. I know ppl enjoy it and to each their own

My only comment was that I don't get and it makes no sense. It's not like I'm trying to stop them from whatever makes them happy

I just think the art community sometimes is a little full of baloney tho

That's the thing: get a life. Imagine being mad behind your computer because someone has an opinion about art

Truth. Art is subjective and not everything appeals to everyone.  As long as they're being respectful about it and not trying to stir the soup then there shouldn't be an issue.

Exactly. Just like people who compare singers because x has better vocal abilities than y. In sports we compete over skills, but we don't hold competitions over who can belt the longest note or all paint the same fruit bowl the most accurate

From what I know, there's no spectacular meaning behind this piece that'll convince you. He was in New York City at the the time and was inspired by the streets. This was also a point in history where he started to slightly switch up. I find researching the artist behind the work makes things more interesting.
