I don’t like Trump, however, freedom of speech is important. Silencing people does not solve any problem, pushing them to the side does nothing but send them into the shadows where they join forces and come back swinging. This is a tale as old as time. Every single idea, no matter how horrific it is needs to be brought to the table where it is in PLAIN SIGHT and where it can be put to death with critical thinking, reasoning, facts, compassion and so on. It’s like putting a band-aid on an open wound. We can’t discard ourselves of people, cancel culture is not real. We need to CHANGE people not act like they don’t exist cause we don’t like what they say, sooner or later they will come back. Not to mention that conversation and exchange of ideas is important for our evolution. Surrounding yourself with people that only agree with you promotes delusionalism. And we see that today with how vile people are and out of touch with reality. It’s similar to sitting by yourself locked inside a room, sooner or later you will start experiencing psychosis. Removing freedom of speech is what communists do.

On a public platform, yes, freedom of speech is important. But the majority of social medias (if not all) are privately owned. They have the right to let whoever they want in and kick out whoever isn't following their legal terms and conditions. Using a private company platform to share dangerous propaganda and extremist thoughts can put that company in legal danger.

I'm sorry, but this is just a bad take. The cries on the right about "free speech" are just smoke and mirrors. What people like Trump and Elon want is to control the speech, not set it "free".

Nobodies arguing against free speech but what Trump, Elon and others like them mean when they say free speech is speech without consequence. They want to say whatever they want without anyone being able to shut it down.

Every Major social media has free speech, You can absolutely post anything you want but don't be surprised when people disagree. People like Trump cross the line and need to be deplatformed because It's dangeous to let them thrive.

Otherwise you end up with a Tolerance paradox
