It happened in many ways and many places indeed but History should be teached without bias so he shouldn't try to hide it when it's about the dark parts of his county's past. When the way in which that land has been stolen has resulted in genocide and institutionalized oppression against the indigenous people of that country (whom are still affected by that to this day), it definitely needs to be addressed and rectified. Also the US isn't the only country with indigenous populations that have been abused and marginalized who are also trying to get historical recognition and societal equity.
