The reason why Taylor is able able to have this many is because companies know Taylor will sale… I’m sorry but if you’re an indie band, companies are not going to risk pressing Vinyls that are just going to stay on the shelf…

For example, they’re not going too book a Stadium Tour for Demi Lovato and a theater stadium for Taylor Swift…

Vinyl factories are overbooked due to Taylor. That has nothing to do with the labels' decision to press vinyls or not. Clearly whether the labels want to press the vinyls or not isn't even a consideration since the factories are all booked up – but whether they press vinyl for TS or others, the factory doesn't care, they get paid whether the record stays on a shelf or not.

Record pressing plants can't keep up with the market demand, and there is a vinyl shortage. So when Taylor, Adele, or Gaga release a dozen different vinyl editions to boost their sales, it's to the detriment of smaller artists who are struggling to get priority pressing.

So if they want to vent their frustrations, I understand why.

Lana had to push Chemtrails back 6 months cuz the records werent ready. It's just an unfortunate fact vinyl production needs a lead time of more or less 1 whole year rn

The problem is the new Billboard rules. The vinyl has to ship the day of release. Before that all the pre orders counted. So I blame Billboard, not the artists. 
Kylies new album is done. She sent it to production now so the vinyl is ready by April 2023. That’s the new reality.

I do understand this but when a major artist is releasing and wants to release multiple colours etc. then there must be communication before so they can be sent out close to the release date.  I remember my Chromatica vinyl came like a week after release so they must’ve been prepped to press before the release date.

Yea I was going to say I 100% blame billboard with the needing the vinyl on release date (not the variants.) I should be able to listen to an album or single and buy it and have it count, even if its a preorder. I understood the merch debate rule change, but the physical media was ridiculous.

Yeah, they are prepped for release long before the release date.

I think they changed it after Ariana and Justin Bieber's "Stuck With U" got #1 on the Hot 100 thanks to cassettes, CDs and vinyl but they didn't have physical copies and their fans waited over 10+ months to get ordered copies. some fans have canceled their orders after they didn't get anything for weeks.

I think it has nothing to do with being uninformed and more to do with values. Taylor acts as if she wants fair treatment for artists but then fast passes vinyl production because she has to press every photo from her key art onto her singular album. You can't speak up about how artists are treated by the industry and then turn your back on artists because it gets you a bag.
