Ukraine continued its successful attacks E of Kupiansk and around Svatove, as Russia - pressured by the Ukrainian advance, launched defensive attacks in the area of Kremmina. At the same time, Russia made limited gains in the Bakhmut are (Donetsk oblast). Fighting also took place in Avviivka, Marinka - settlements in the vicinity of Donetsk city. In the NW of Kherson oblast, Russians launched attacks in order to recover some of their lost territory. Except the news Ukraine liberated 5 settlements on the 12th of October, not many reliable news regarding the change of frontline in this region came out since the 9th of October. That said, the region could potentially be the place for new counter-offensive as rumors say some Russians troops left the province (which ultimately remains to be seen). I clearly remember the first weeks when Russia was advancing dozens of kms daily. They reached Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Odesa (by the sea) - 6 oblast capitals + Donbas.
