Beyoncé is looking to secure her first Grammy nominations in the dance/electronic music categories.

Voting for the 2023 Grammy Awards begins today, and the ballot reveals that Renaissance was submitted for Album of the Year and Best Dance/Electronic Album.

Similarly, “Break My Soul” was submitted for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Dance/Electronic Recording.

In addition to attempting to compete in the general and dance/electronic categories, Beyoncé submitted music for R&B consideration: “Heated” and “Virgo’s Groove” are eligible for Best R&B Performance, while “Cuff It” was submitted for Best R&B Song.

She also has two candidates in the traditional R&B category, “Plastic Off the Sofa” and “Make Me Say It Again, Girl,” although the latter is an Isley Brothers track that has her doing a featured performance.

Meanwhile, “Be Alive,” the Oscar-nominated closing theme from “King Richard,” will contend for best song for visual media. She’s also up for best arrangement for “Virgo’s Groove” and music video for “Be Alive.

I mean it is a dance record so why wouldn’t she? I’d actually think there’s a bigger argument for songs like Virgo’s Groove and Cuff It to be moved into the dance or pop categories over R&B.

smart avoiding pop with Adele

but "R&B progressive" would have been an easy win and don't they hate popular artists being in there solo?

There better no big other records by men or white people that compete with it, cos Grammy will likely choose those first before Yoncé's. Adele were victims of that twice that she had to apologize for it, she saw of the politics as she wins them trophies. :triggered:
