Yes… a former president being wrongly imprisoned will have impact ☠️ But it’s obv ur trying to argue in bad faith with those ridiculous hot takes so yeah I’m not interacting with you x

yeah, the impact I referred to was previous to Lula's imprisonment... as in the companies involved had done similar things with other governments... But again, I don't someone living in Canada would know anything about the daily life in Latin America.

So… the problem was the companies and Lula got arrested unfairly? aka fake corruption?

Cute.

I dont think sharing your daily 9-5 schedule will help much, but it it sheds light on how you don’t know how the use internet to learn about international stories, or how having irl friends who emigrate to your area works, picking that apart might be nice…

Yeah, it's not like I live in a neighboring country to Brazil, that also happens to be a part of Mercosur, that also receives immigrants and whose former president (currently vice president and also being investigated for corruption cases during her presidency) had close ties to Lula and Odebrecht... your entitlement and lack of objective information are showing hun

All I’m saying is Lula’s corruption scandal is a joke and here you are bringing up “do you know what leader A in district B-12 of a whole other country had for lunch on October 27th 2019, you entitled stupid foreigner??”

that conclusion would only be valid if I endorsed Bolsonaro, and I have done quite the opposite. Lula is the lesser evil out of the two, and he has to win for Brazil's sake.

But I can also recognize he's a corrupt politician, because guess what ? those two things are not mutually exclusive. And that's how i know you have NO idea of how Latin American politics work and how the right and left operate here.

Fun fact: You can still have right wing opinions and not support ultra far right figures… and it still be unacceptable 🎉

You think me saying the reason he got jailed is bullshit is me saying he’s a perfect non-corrupt politician????  :ladyhaha:

I did say in a post that him getting imprisoned was unconstitutional, and that's why he got pardoned in the end. I think you missed that.

Anyways, I'm not right leaning, nor left leaning. In fact I think it's stupid to keep seeing the world in ways that have proven to not work, since both the right and left have failed to address structural issues that affect modern societies, may have to do with the concept being created in the late 1700s... call me crazy, but I think the world is not the same and therefore our view of it should change accordingly.

It's also hard for me to forget what the left did to the LGBTQ+ community in Latin America in the 60s and 70s, but hey, some people have forgotten that it seems. But let's say it this way, Che Guevara had his own conversion camps for us gays, we were after all "a bourgeois vice and a fascist perversion", unfit for the revolution. Not so different from today's right. So yeah, forgive me for knowing history and not being a lap dog to people who would happily throw us in camps a few decades ago and today appropiate the community's fight. Forgive me for not liking a man who idolizes that person:

Know your history, it does wonders for critical thinking.
